Ian established Ian’s school of motoring in 1990. Within a few months of qualifying to become an Approved Driving Instructor business was thriving Ian’s pass rate and passion for the business encountered a very successful turnover of pupils through recommendations. This lead him to start teaching friends to become ADI's to assist with the demand of work. Within a 2-3 year period Ian’s went from one car to eight cars. He then noticed a gap in the market for a motorbike instructor. This encouraged him to open up his first office in Newtownards teaching cars, bikes, ADI training, trailer lessons and for a short period only due to the demand of the business LGC & PSV lessons.
About 5 years ago we moved into new premises on Jubilee Road in Newtownards which was a great opportunity to open up a motorbike shop which today offers:
- new and second hand motorbike and scooters with Kemco dealership offering Black Horse Finance and later in the year for Piaggio, Vespa, Dirby and Gilera.
- Parts, accessories and workshop with full time mechanic carrying out MOT and servicing to a very high standards. Tyre machine balancing you have a problem help solve it.
Today Ians is one of the premier driving schools in Northern Ireland covering each test centre which is looking to increase their business.
Business has gone from strength to strength due to dedication and professionalism that all our staff have give to the company.
