If you have passed you car test after 1997 the chances are you will have to pass a trailer test to be able to tow a trailer over 750 kg - ie: Horse Box, Car Transporter.
To confirm this please check your driving licence to see if you have category B+E dated on your licence IF NOT you will need to pass the trailer test.
On the road drive 1. be able to move off from the side of the road safely 2. pull in & stop at a safe and convenient place 3. complete an angle start 4. complete a downhill start
The test duration - approximately 1hr 15 mins
